Horses’ teeth grow all through their lives. As they eat and chew, they grind their teeth down. However, they don’t usually grind their teeth down evenly. This can lead to sharp points that can actually cause your horse pain when they are eating. If left untreated, horses can get sores in their mouths from the sharp points. Some horses will stop eating entirely because of a painful mouth.

Veterinarians and horse dentists used to use a manual tool to wear down the sharp points so that horses can eat better. Now, there is a power float that makes the job much more efficient!
