Dr. Jason McLendon grew up in Carrollton, GA, where working on family farms and with mixed animal veterinarians sparked his interest in large-animal medicine. He earned a degree in Animal Science from the University of Georgia, worked as a veterinary technician, and later attended LSU’s School of Veterinary Medicine, gaining hands-on experience through externships and work on equine facilities.

After graduating in 2001, he returned to Georgia, later joining Coosa Valley Equine Center in Alabama before founding Southern Crescent Equine Services in 2005. His professional interests include sports medicine, reproduction, dentistry, and minor surgeries, and he is also an FEI-accredited treating veterinarian.
